How do you, as a business owner, create a unique website for your visitors? Use customer focused marketing.

Often, when business owners are thinking about having a website built, they will have website content that is specifically written for themselves when they really should be writing towards their target market, which are their customers.

When doing initial research for your website, implement customer focused research to ask some of the following questions

What do you want to see on the website?

How do you want to see it?

What are your concerns around this topic?

How can we solve them?

What will bring you back to the website?

What information do you need to buy the product or service?

Using the information that is given to you, you can have your web design company create highly focused copy that will answer all the questions that your target market has when they are researching your product or service online. By answering all the questions of your target market you will have successfully separated your website from your competitors’ website, thus making your website truly unique.

Blogging is a great way to get more traffic from the right audience for three reasons.
First, search engines will give your website more “love” if you have fresh content, and writing a blog is a great way to get more fresh content.
Second, people typically just don’t link to a boring corporate website, but they will link to an interesting blog article, so blogging can help you get more links.
Finally, if your blog is setup correctly, each blog article is its own webpage and therefore is a unique SEO opportunity, so you can really capture a lot of long tail (i.e. highly focused and narrow) traffic using a blog. Additionally, blogs allow you to engage your customers in a dialogue and humanize your brand.

Probably the most important part of visual text elements in your websites that Google and other major search engines use to gauge placement is your HTML page title. Your page title is the text in the blue bar located at the top of your web browser.

The page title is vitally important because it gets maximum exposure in the search engine results pages. If you care about getting potential clicks to your website, and thus new customers, your page titles should be compelling and succinct, and for your best chance at conversions, it should accurately summarize the page content. For further chance at success consider putting in different page titles for each different page of your website. This will allow your business a further oppourtunity at capturing the valuable conversions that can lead to a new customer.

Too many times we have looked at a prospects website and seen the same page title used across the entire website, thus wasting a valuable oppourtunity at ranking higher in major search engines and losing potential new customers in the process.

Remember that a website is the first thing that a potential client or customer uses as a research tool when looking for a product or service. Also remeber that a search engine will likely be the first place a prospect will look for that product or service. Having properly written page titles as part of your SEO strategy will have a profound impact in your serach rankings, and thus, your business.

When you decide to have a website for your business there are a number of things that you have to consider before you actually start building your website.

Website planning has various steps, the most important step is determining who your target audience is going to be.

The following questions will help you assess your market. This will help you to narrow down your target by interest, demographic, and common trends.

Who is your target audience?

Where is your target audience located?

What do they think about your current brand?

What would you like them to think about your brand?

How will you attract them to your products or services?

Who else is competing for their loyalty and devotion?

Are you targeting business or consumer services?

Determining your target audience during the website planning stage will give you a wealth of information that your web solutions provider can use as the website is further developed. This information can be used when deciding on which website technologies to incorporate, the type of website features you need and what the target audience is looking for.
